ABOUT COACH JONES

LaTice Jones, a Gary, Indiana native, is a former collegiate and semi-professional basketball player turned elite skill development coach and strength & conditioning specialist. A standout post player at Gary Roosevelt High School, she was a four-year varsity leader, averaging over 30 points per game, and earning All-Regional and All-Sectional honors. Ranked among Indiana’s Top 50 recruits, she continued her career at the collegiate level, first at State Fair Community College (NJCAA DI), where she led the team in scoring (12.5 PPG) and rebounding (10 RPG), and earned First-Team All-Region XVI honors. She later played two seasons at Missouri Southern State University (NCAA DII), contributing to back-to-back winning seasons and a 2011 MIAA Quarterfinal appearance.

Following her collegiate career, LaTice played three seasons in the WBCBL for the St. Louis Surge and Midwest Flyers before transitioning into coaching and skill development. Certified in fitness training and strength & conditioning, she founded LMJ Sports Training® in 2017 after years of research into movement, performance, and injury prevention.

Her turning point came not just from playing the game, but from recognizing how few athletes had access to high-quality skill development programs that truly prepared them to compete. That realization became her mission: to help athletes of all ages unlock their potential. At LMJ Sports Training, she applies that same work ethic and focus to developing each athlete she coaches, creating opportunities, building confidence, and preparing the next generation to lead in sports and life.

My Mission

My mission is to help athletes reach their full potential by sharpening fundamentals, improving basketball IQ, and building confidence both on and off the court. I'm LaTice Jones, a former collegiate and semi-professional basketball player, now a strength & conditioning coach and skill development trainer. With years of experience as both a player and a coach, I’ve seen what it takes to succeed. At LMJ Sports Training, I focus on developing complete athletes, pushing limits, building discipline, and preparing them to dominate their sport and leave a lasting legacy.
